OASD is set up to carry out and facilitate research, policy making, capacity building, and advocacy initiatives which significantly examines and documents practices, policies and actions of individuals, organizations/institutions which impedes the proper dispatch and recognition of social and economic justice for all in communities. It also exists to put in place proactive and participatory parameters to facilitate the sustainable social development of social and economic justice, peace and security.
Role summary:
Officer, Finance and Admin will be responsible for providing accounting and reporting services to the organization in accordance with OASD Policies and Procedures. S/ he will ensure that applicable statutory and tax requirements are complied with. S/ he will also facilitate audits and provide financial reports for analysis and donor.ย
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The officer will be expected to produce the following deliverables, among others:
- Ensure the application of proper accounting internal control systems and processes to facilitate financial monitoring and control in line with the donor Guidelines for financial reporting and auditing of projects.
- Assist in the preparation of operating budgets.
- Ensure that all supporting documents in respect of financial transactions are adequately authorized and have correct information.
- Ensure overall preparation of project accounting ledgers and project accounts in accordance with international best practices and standards.
- Ensures proper filing for all financial documents.
- Assist with audit preparation
- Preparation of funder reports
- Carries out any other tasks required by OASD Management
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in relevant field.
- Minimum one year of experience working with non-profit program management, budgeting and accounting.
- Knowledge of grants administration, and ability to interpret grants-related governmental documents and accurately respond to them.
- Experience of managing payroll and related systems and polices.
- Proficient with accounting software, including QuickBooks.
- Excellent numeracy and financial skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Prior experience working on program support for civil society organizations is desirables
Other requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work outputs, including written communication.
- Sound knowledge of MS Office, Tally and other accounting software.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to independently track and manage multiple tasks and complete them quickly.
